Founded in 1983, The MIDAS Consulting Group has provided a broad range of services in managing multimillion dollar campaigns for national, regional, and local organizations, while enhancing their internal fundraising capabilities. Neither our firm, nor will our consultants represent as their own successes the campaigns they conducted through the use of the talents and resources of other firms. Information acquired from a client is never shared with other clients. We maintain respect for the proprietary nature of our files and those we serve.

LEADERSHIP

Lead feasibility study and campaign management for capital campaigns is provided by Michael E. Blimes FAFP, CEO and Executive Consultant of MIDAS. He has 52 years of direct fundraising experience, 26 years as a consultant – 21 of those years with MIDAS – rather than the substitution of less experienced individuals. Named a Distinguished Fellow of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) having been nominated by the Colorado Chapter in 2023 and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Las Vegas Chapter of AFP in 2024, Michael continues a distinguished career of serving not-for-profit organizations as interim executive staff or fundraising counsel.

EXPERIENCE

Recognized nationally for both the diversity of his fundraising knowledge and experience, Michael’s primary areas of expertise are strategic management of fundraising programs, funding / feasibility studies, cultivating and soliciting major gifts, and capital / endowment campaign management. He has provided effective counsel to major campaigns with results ranging from $1 million to $220 million and, in some cases, proven to be a consultant’s consultant. He is also recognized nationally for his expertise in all areas of fundraising management, including prospect identification and research.

EXPERTISE

All MIDAS personnel resources are senior level professionals in areas of experience and expertise which are vital to successful campaigns - computer-based information systems, prospect identification, research, corporate and foundation grant writing, major gift cultivation and solicitation, marketing communications, and planned giving.

MIDAS follows a structured, proprietary campaign action plan that affords both a step-by-step progression and the appropriate flexibility to adapt to unexpected situations or new opportunities that may arise during campaign activities.

The essence of MIDAS distinctiveness is the qualitative counsel provided and the intuitive basis of that counsel which has been honed through a combination of experience and expertise over five decades. Our cost-effective approach to campaign management maximizes performance with available resources, but those resources must be sufficient to maximize results.
